RESEARCH SERVICES

The Commonwealth Poll offers custom-designed data collection on a contract basis. Clients include state agencies and non-profit organizations looking to gather objective information on the opinions, experiences, knowledge, and needs of the public.

Clients receive:

Professional questionnaire design, customized to meet client needs
Data collection and analysis on an omnibus Commonwealth Poll
Executive summary, full data tables, and complete demographic information
Power point presentation of results (available at extra charge)

Special design or analysis needs can be accommodated including:

Oversampling and special population surveys
Experimental tests of question design and issue framing
Multivariate statistical analyses

     The Commonwealth Poll provides a cost-effective way to collect data on a limited number of questions. The fee structure is based on the number of questions asked, the extent of analysis and special sampling involved.

     A large variety of surveys can also be conducted on a contract basis through the Survey and Evaluation Research Laboratory (SERL) at VCU’s Center for Public Policy.  Established in 1982, SERL is a full-service research center for telephone, mail, and web-based surveys.  Additional services include field interviews, focus groups, data management and web development. SERL has a permanent professional staff with extensive experience in program evaluation studies, health-related survey research, public opinion research, and data management and analysis.
